Breakfast is best when it’s homemade and hassle free. Serve up these wonderful crock pot breakfasts buffet style for smiles all around on Christmas morning (or on any cold winter morning).
Southern Sausage Gravy over Byrd Mill Biscuits
Try this old Southern recipe that we’ve adapted to the crock pot. Give your family a head start with something warm, nutritious and delicious.
1lb pork sausage (seasoned with sage)
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup flour
Pepper to taste
2 cups of milk
1 can of cheddar cheese soup
Cook 1lb. of sausage (seasoned with sage) in a skillet, drain and remove. Melt ¼ cup of butter or margarine in the same skillet. Stir in ¼ cup flour and a few shakes of pepper. Slowly whisk in 2 cups of milk and a can of undiluted cheddar cheese soup. Bring to a boil, and stir until thick and bubbly. Stir in sausage and transfer to slow cooker. Cook on low for 7-8 hours. Serve over homemade Byrd Mill Biscuits.
Crock Pot Pancakes
You can set it and forget it with this recipe. Set it on low for 1 1/2 hours and spoon out your pancakes, top with butter and warm maple syrup.
Simply mix a batch of delicious Byrd Mill Buttermilk Pancake and Waffle Mix or Byrd Mill Blueberry Pancake and Waffle Mix.
Spray your cooker with non-stick spray.
Pour in pancake mix.
Stir in a cup of maple syrup.
Set on low for an 1 ½ hours.
Check the center with a fork, when none of the batter sticks, it’s ready.
