Even if you’ve never made bread before, there’s no reason not to try this recipe. Our easy and delicious bread recipe contains only 6 simple ingredients. All it takes is patience, and the results are absolutely amazing. We use this simple recipe for hamburger buns, pizza crust, cinnamon bread and more. *Our go-to method uses the bread machine technique below.
3 ½ cup bread flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon sugar
1 ½ cup water
1 ½ teaspoon dry yeast
Here are a few helpful options to make this bread recipe:
Bread Machine: Put all ingredients into a bread machine and set it to the dough setting.
Stand Mixer: Use a stand mixer with a dough hook and knead the dough at medium speed for about 7 minutes. It should be smooth and elastic.
Hand Made: Mix ingredients in a bowl and turn it out onto a lightly floured surface using an additional 1/2 cup of flour during kneading. Fold and push away the bread with the heels of your hands until it’s smooth and elastic.
When the dough is ready, put it into a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap so it’s airtight, and let it rise until doubled in size (about 2 hours). After the dough rises, shape it into 2 loaves, 12 hamburger buns, or 2 pizza bases… this recipe is our “go-to” for all yeasted breads including pretzels and bread sticks. After you decide which shape, let the bread rise in it’s new form for another 45 minutes. Preheat oven to 450-degrees. Bake bread for about 20 minutes. *My oven cooks pizza crust in about 15-minutes.
