At our house we love our dogs. And if you forgot about man’s best friend during the busy holidays take a few minutes and bake your favorite pooch some healthy dog treats. These apple and cranberry dog biscuits are full of antioxidants. Your dogs will love you even more. Include your children when making these special treats, they are easy to make and a lot of fun.
Apple Cranberry dog biscuits
1 cup raw cranberries
1 cup apple sauce
2 1/2 cups Byrd Mill whole wheat flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup milk
Preheat oven 325 degrees. Crush the cranberries in a blender and add the applesauce. Then add milk, cinnamon and whole wheat flour. Stir until well mixed. Knead the dough and roll it out on a floured surface about 1/4 inch thick. Cut the dough with a cookie cutter and place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until edges are brown. Makes 2 dozen.
